Offices behind row of shops, seen from platform 2, Streatham Station

From the road, this building is useful but every day, containing as it does a plumber’s merchants, shoe repair shop etc. From behind, it’s much more pleasing, with nice broad windows, a great fire escape and those square but appealing chimneys. It looks like it will be staying up when the area gets redeveloped for Streatham Hub, which is good. It clearly plays host to small, local businesses. It must be driving them nuts working with all that demolition racket going on behind them.
